Abstract
Sestrinska profesija u suvremenome je svijetu, kao i ostala područja u zdravstvu, podložna brzim promjenama, čemu se nužno mora prilagođavati i obrazovanje sestrinskoga kadra. Polovicom 19. stoljeća osnovana je prva škola za medicinske sestre, a danas obrazovne ustanove nude čak i doktorske studije u toj struci. Cilj ovoga rada bio je istražiti što je studente sestrinstva motiviralo na upis studija, žele li nastaviti obrazovati se i zbog čega, smatraju li da bi se trebali specijalizirati za određeno područje, na kakvom bi radnom mjestu željeli raditi, prepoznaju li važnost cjeloživotnoga obrazovanja itd. Istraživanjem provedenim među studentima preddiplomskoga studija sestrinstva na Fakultetu zdravstvenih studija u Rijeci potvrđene su početne pretpostavke – većina ispitanika želi nastaviti školovanje na diplomskoj razini i studenti većinom imaju jasnu viziju o svojemu budućem radnom mjestu. Dobiveni su također i drugi zanimljivi podaci, primjerice za koje bi smjerove diplomskoga studija studenti željeli da se pokrenu te da vrlo malen broj studenata sestrinsku profesiju smatra cijenjenom.
Abstract (english)
Nursing profession in modern times, as well as other areas in healthcare, is subject to rapid changes, which is why it is necessary to adapt the education of the nursing staff. In the middle of the 19th century, the first school for nurses was founded, and today educational institutions offer even doctoral studies in that profession. The aim of this paper was to investigate what motivated the students of nursing to enroll in the studies, whether they want to continue to be educated and why, whether they think that they should specialize in a certain area, in what position they would like to work and do they recognize the importance of lifelong learning, The research conducted among undergraduate students at the Faculty of Health Studies in Rijeka confirmed the initial assumptions – most respondents want to continue their education at a graduate level and most students have a clear vision of their future workplace. Other interesting data were obtained, for example, which courses would graduate students like to be initiated at the faculty, and that very few students consider the nursing profession to be appreciated.
