Abstract
U ovom radu prikazane su anatomija i fiziologija debelog crijeva, dijagnostika, vrste operacija, preoperativna priprema bolesnika za operaciju karcinoma debelog crijeva, postoperativni tijek, te istraživanje utjecaj statusa uhranjenosti bolesnika operiranih od karcinoma debelog crijeva na poslijeoperacijski oporavak. Karcinom debelog crijeva po učestalosti dolazi odmah poslije karcinoma pluća. Osim karcinoma pluća, smrtnost od karcinoma debelog crijeva je viša od bilo kojeg drugog malignog tumora kod stanovništva razvijenih zemalja. Tumor se može javiti u svakoj životnoj dobi, ali najčešće se javlja poslije 40. godine. Preventivnim pregledima i dijagnostičkim testovima karcinom debelog crijeva može se otkriti u ranoj fazi kada je moguće potpuno izlječenje. Nažalost, većina oboljelih javlja se liječniku tek kada bolest počinje stvarati simptome poput smetnji u pražnjenju crijeva (proljevi, zatvor), krvi u stolici ili gubitka na težini. Prema podacima Registra za rak Hrvatskog zavoda za javno zdravstvo, novooboljelih godišnje od karcinoma debelog crijeva je oko 3000. Od raka debelog crijeva godišnje u Republici Hrvatskoj umre više od 1500 osoba.
Abstract (english)
This paper presents the anatomy and physiology of the colon, diagnostics, types of operations, preoperative preparation of patients for colon cancer surgery, postoperative course, and research on the influence of nutritional status of patients with colon cancer surgery on postoperative recovery. Colon cancer is the most common cancer immediately after lung cancer. In addition to lung cancer, mortality from colon cancer is higher than any other malignant tumor in the population of developed countries. The tumor can occur at any age, but most commonly occurs after the age of 40. Preventive examinations and diagnostic tests for colon cancer can be detected at an early stage when a complete cure is possible. Unfortunately, most sufferers only see a doctor when the disease begins to produce symptoms such as bowel movements (diarrhea, constipation), blood in the stool, or weight loss. According to the Cancer Registry of the Croatian Institute of Public Health, there are about 3,000 new cases of colon cancer per year. More than 1,500 people die of colon cancer in the Republic of Croatia every year.
