Water birth is an attempt to choose and contribute to humanization, that is, the relationship with mothers, while respecting the choice and decision of the mother about the method of birth and her active participation in making such a decision. The goal is to free the mother from the fear of childbirth and help her to experience it positively. Most people find great comfort in the water. Probably because we start our lives surrounded by fluid in the uterus. Immersion in warm water deep enough to cover a woman’s abdomen is thought to improve relaxation and reduce labour pains. Furthermore, a woman should be supportedIin a spontaneous, physiological push. The midwife can use the armless technique or the arm-in-position technique to facilitate childbirth with controlled but spontaneous stresses. The new-born does not need a cap, clothes, or a heater. Mother's skin makes it easier for the baby to warm up and leads to thermal stability better than any replacement mechanical heating unit. When a baby is born, everyone is waiting for that first cry, which signals that the new-born has safely came out of the womb. Delaying a response is veryistressful for most people. The focus on the breath and that first cry overshadowed all the other mechanisms that happen in the first moments that greet us in life on planet Earth. There are several mechanisms that prevent a baby from inhaling while still immersed in water while the head is being born and after the whole body has slipped into the water. Understanding these mechanisms is important for assessing the safety of water births. It is also important to have knowledge about the triggers of a new-born’s breathing and what happens in the cardiovascular system as the baby transitions from circulation of a foetus to new-born circulation. Childbirth is a dynamic and transformative experience, on an individual and social level, and has the power to have a profound impact on life. It is a physiological process characterized by the empowerment of a woman in which the key person is the midwife. Key words:
