Abstract
U prosincu 2019. godine opisan je prvi slučaj teškog akutnog respiratornog sindroma koronavirus SARS-COV-2 , a do ožujka 2020. Svjetska zdravstvena organizacija proglasila je bolest pandemijom. Dok su respiratorni simptomi temeljno obilježje bolesti, pojavljuju se dokazi koji ukazuju na to da je bolest povezana s koagulacijskim poremećajima koja predisponira pacijente na povećani rizik od venske i arterijske tromboembolije (TE) i potencijalno povećani rizik od smrti kao posljedice. Stoga je cilj ovog rada procijeniti ukupne stope tromboembolije u pacijenata oboljelih od COVID-19 i dalje utvrditi povezanost tromboembolije sa rizičnim faktorima i smrtnošću među pacijentima s COVID-19 liječenih na Odjelu za intenzivno liječenje COVID pacijenata KBC-a Rijeka u razdoblju od 28. ožujka 2020. do 30.lipnja 2021.godine. Rezultati istraživanja pokazali su da je stopa smrtnosti od tromboembolijskih incidenata kod SARS-CoV-2 infekcije iznosila 5%. Glavni faktori rizika su muški spol, starosna dob ≥70 godina, prisutnost komorbiditeta, osobito povezanih sa kardiovaskularnim bolestima, potreba za mehaničkom ventilacijom i intenzivni liječenjem, te invazivni monitoring.
Abstract (english)
In December 2019, the first case of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus SARS-COV-2 was described, and by March 2020, the World Health Organization declared the disease a pandemic. While respiratory symptoms are a fundamental feature of the disease, evidence emerges that the disease is associated with coagulation disorders that predispose patients to an increased risk of venous and arterial thromboembolism (TE) and a potentially increased risk of death as a consequence. Therefore, the aim of this study was to assess the overall rates of thromboembolism in COVID-19 patients and to further determine the association of thromboembolism with risk factors and mortality among COVID-19 patients treated at the COVID Intensive Care Unit of KBC Rijeka in the period from March 28. 2020 to June 30, 2021. The results of the study showed that the mortality rate from thromboembolic incidents in SARS-CoV-2 infection was 5%. The main risk factors are male gender, age> 70 years, the presence of comorbidities, especially associated with cardiovascular disease, the need for mechanical ventilation and intensive treatment, and invasive monitoring.
