Multiple sclerosis is chronic, inflammatory disease of the central nervous system which causes demyelination, which results in the occurrence of lesions. Afterward, it leads to neuronal damage, axon loss and causes a wide spectrum of clinical manifestations. The goal of the research is to analyze rehabilitation programs outside of Croatia and compare them with the ones which are implemented in Croatia as well as verify their efficacy while striving to answer the question ''Which procedure is the most successful?''. Working methods are based on website database search from sites such as PubMed, PEDro and ResearchGate as well as on the case report of the patient, which is being rehabilitated at the Department of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine of Clinical hospital center of Rijeka, where pre-and post- neurorehabilitation test data were compared. Rehabilitation is, as the most important part of nonpharmacological treatment, a common research topic. Researches do not dispute the success and importance of previous rehabilitation programs, such as active exercises, balance exercises and exercises in the water, but shows that each one of mentioned therapies has its own positive effects and therefore should and must be used in the rehabilitation of multiple sclerosis. But recent research is more often turning to newer ways of performing therapy, thus it is about the Bobath concept, robotics and virtual reality, which showed the statistical significance of improvement in both the effect on disease symptoms and in effects of multiple sclerosis itself. Besides, increasing attention is being paid to cognitive therapy which emphasizes the importance of cognitive rehabilitation as much as physical rehabilitation. It is quite certain that the area of rehabilitation is in progress and when it comes to multiple sclerosis it is not possible to make a mistake while choosing a therapy.
