Abstract
Gerontologija, proučavanje procesa starenja, posvećena je razumijevanju i kontroli svih čimbenika koji doprinose konačnosti života pojedinca. Mentalno zdravlje odnosi se na kognitivno, bihevioralno i emocionalno blagostanje. Sve je u tome kako ljudi misle, osjećaju i ponašaju se. Ljudi ponekad koriste izraz "mentalno zdravlje" kako bi označili odsutnost mentalnog poremećaja. Demencija je pad mentalnih sposobnosti koji utječe na pamćenje, razmišljanje, rješavanje problema, koncentraciju i percepciju. Koronavirus identificiran 2019. godine, SARS-CoV-2, izazvao je pandemiju respiratorne bolesti, nazvanu COVID-19. Simptomi COVID-19 mogu se razlikovati od osobe do osobe. Također se mogu razlikovati u različitim dobnim skupinama. Pandemija COVID-19 negativno je utjecala na mentalno zdravlje mnogih ljudi i stvorila nove prepreke za ljude koji već boluju od mentalnih bolesti.
Abstract (english)
Gerontology, the study of the aging process, is dedicated to understanding and controlling all the factors that contribute to the finality of an individual’s life. Mental health refers to cognitive, behavioral, and emotional well-being. It’s all about how people think, feel and behave. People sometimes use the term "mental health" to denote the absence of a mental disorder. Dementia is a decline in mental abilities that affects memory, thinking, problem solving, concentration and perception. The coronavirus identified in 2019, SARS-CoV-2, caused a respiratory pandemic, called COVID-19. Symptoms of COVID-19 may vary from person to person. They can also vary in different age groups. The COVID-19 pandemic has negatively affected the mental health of many people and created new barriers for people already suffering from mental illness.
