Abstract
Multipli mijelom jedan je od malignih i progresivnih bolesti koje kod pacijenata, unatoč razlici u vremenu preživljavanja, rezultiraju smrtnim ishodom. U suvremenom se svijetu bilježi povećana incidencija multipli mijeloma, posebice u razvijenim zemljama, a osnovni je uzrok tomu trend starenja stanovništva zajedno s napretkom koji se ostvaruje u pogledu dijagnostičkih postupaka i metoda koje dovode do ranijeg otkrića bolesti. Uz zdravstveni tim koji je sastavljen od značajnog broja liječnika, uloga medicinske sestre jedna je od najvažnijih u liječenju i pružanju zdravstvene njege pacijentima. Istraživanje je provedeno u Općoj bolnici Zadar i uključivalo je pacijente s dijagnozom multipli mijeloma u periodu od 1. siječnja 2015. godine do 31. prosinca 2021. godine, te podatke o incidenciji multipli mijeloma Hrvatskog zavoda za javno zdravstvo.
Abstract (english)
Multiple myeloma is one of the malignant and progressive diseases that result in death in patients, despite the difference in survival time. In the modern world, there is an increased incidence of multiple myeloma, especially in developed countries, and the main reason for this is the aging of the population together with the progress made in terms of diagnostic procedures and methods that lead to earlier detection of the disease. With a healthcare team that is made up of a significant number of doctors, the role of the nurse is one of the most important in treating and providing healthcare to patients. The research was conducted at Zadar General Hospital and included patients diagnosed with multiple myeloma in the period from January 1, 2015 to December 31, 2021, and data on the incidence of multiple myeloma from the Croatian Institute of Public Health
