Abstract
Danas, bolesti bubrega predstavljaju velik javnozdravstveni problem diljem svijeta. Gubitak funkcije bubrega zahtijeva primjenu odgovarajuće terapije kako bi se održalo zdravlje i život pacijenata. Jedna od metoda liječenja je peritonealna dijaliza, terapijski pristup koji koristi peritonealnu membranu trbušne šupljine kao prirodni filter za uklanjanje toksina i viška tekućine iz tijela. Peritonealna dijaliza pruža mogućnost zamjene funkcije bubrega kod pacijenata s oštećenom bubrežnom funkcijom, omogućavajući im da vode aktivne i produktivne živote. Ova vrsta terapija nudi niz prednosti, kao što je fleksibilnost, veća autonomija pacijenata i mogućnost izvođenja dijalize u udobnosti vlastitog doma. Međutim, peritonealna dijaliza pored svojih dobrih strana, nosi određene izazove i komplikacije. Infekcije peritonealne membrane, poremećaji ravnoteže elektrolita i tekućine, te dugoročne komplikacije mogu utjecati na uspješnost terapije i kvalitetu života pacijenata.
Abstract (english)
Today, kidney diseases represent a major public health problem worldwide. Loss of kidney function requires the use of appropriate therapy to maintain the health and life of patients. One of the treatment methods is peritoneal dialysis, a therapeutic approach that uses the peritoneal membrane of the abdominal cavity as a natural filter to remove toxins and excess fluid from the body. Peritoneal dialysis provides the ability to replace kidney function in patients with impaired kidney function, enabling them to lead active and productive lives. This type of therapy offers a number of advantages, such as flexibility, greater patient autonomy and the ability to perform dialysis in the comfort of your own home. However, peritoneal dialysis, in addition to its good sides, carries certain challenges and complications. Peritoneal membrane infections, electrolyte and fluid balance disorders, and long-term complications can affect the success of therapy and the quality of life of patients.
