Alcohol represents a significant social challenge among young people, and its consumption can have serious consequences for their health and life paths. The aim of this research is to examine the knowledge of adolescents from urban and rural areas about the harmful effects of alcohol consumption, to identify possible differences between the two groups and whether there is a difference in knowledge in relation to age, level of education and gender. This study analyzed adolescents' knowledge of the harmful effects of alcohol consumption. A total of 90 adolescents aged 18 to 22 were surveyed, and the results provided deeper insights into their awareness of the consequences of alcohol consumption. The majority of participants recognized the serious risks associated with alcohol, including liver damage, an increased likelihood of addiction, and negative effects on mental health and academic performance. Additionally, adolescents were aware of the connection between alcohol and dangerous behaviors such as drunk driving. However, there is a diversity of opinions on certain aspects, such as the impact of mixing alcohol with non-alcoholic beverages or alcohol's ability to help cope with stress. While there are differences in perceptions, this research highlights the importance of educating adolescents about the risks of alcohol consumption to promote responsible alcohol use among young people.
