Abstract | Medicinske sestre i medicinski tehničari imaju ključnu ulogu u transfuzijskoj medicini, koja se bavi proučavanjem i primjenom krvnih pripravaka. Njihova stručnost u transfuziji krvi, liječenju bolesti te podršci tijekom kirurških zahvata ogleda se kroz njihovo znanje, iskustvo i stavove. Cilj ovog istraživanja je procijeniti razinu znanja medicinskih sestara i tehničara o primjeni i vrstama krvnih pripravaka s obzirom na njihovo radno mjesto, utvrditi razinu znanja ovisno o razini obrazovanja i spolu, te istražiti stavove o potrebi dodatne edukacije. U istraživanju je sudjelovalo 90 medicinskih sestara i tehničara iz različitih zdravstvenih ustanova koji su dobrovoljno pristali ispuniti Upitnik o znanju, stavovima i iskustvima vezanim za primjenu krvnih pripravaka, pri čemu je većina (67,80%) imala srednju stručnu spremu. Iako je većina ispitanika imala manje od pet godina radnog iskustva (35,60%), značajan broj (21,10%) imao je više od 30 godina radnog staža. Analiza odgovora na postavljena pitanja o krvnim pripravcima pokazala je visoku razinu osnovnog razumijevanja među ispitanicima, s visokim postotkom točnih odgovora (prosječno 83,2 ± 7,77). Unatoč tome, većina ispitanika (67,78%) izrazila je potrebu za dodatnom edukacijom o primjeni krvnih pripravaka, što ukazuje na važnost kontinuiranog obrazovanja u ovome području. Važno je napomenuti da nije uočena značajna razlika u razumijevanju krvnih pripravaka s obzirom na stupanj obrazovanja ispitanika (p=0,123, p>0,05), što implicira da je osnovno znanje o krvnim pripravcima ravnomjerno raspoređeno unutar različitih obrazovnih profila medicinskih sestara i tehničara. Rezultati istraživanja ukazuju na postojanje potrebe za dodatnom edukacijom, standardiziranim pristupom i većom podrškom u zdravstvenim ustanovama kako bi se osigurala sigurnost i učinkovitost transfuzijske terapije. |
Abstract (english) | Nurses and medical technicians play a key role in transfusion medicine, which deals with the study and application of blood products. Their expertise in blood transfusion, treatment of diseases, and support during surgical procedures is reflected in their knowledge, experience and attitudes. The goal of this research is to assess the level of knowledge of nurses and technicians about the use and types of blood products with regard to their workplace, to determine the level of knowledge depending on the level of education and gender, and to investigate attitudes about the need for additional education. 90 nurses and technicians from different health institutions participated in the research, who voluntarily agreed to fill in the Questionnaire on knowledge, attitudes and experiences related to the use of blood products, where the majority (67.80%) had a secondary education. Although the majority of respondents had less than five years of work experience (35.60%), a significant number (21.10%) had more than 30 years of work experience. The analysis of the answers to the questions about blood products showed a high level of basic understanding among the respondents, with a high percentage of correct answers (average 83.2 ± 7.77). Despite this, the majority of respondents (67.78%) expressed the need for additional education on the use of blood products, which indicates the importance of continuous education in this area. It is important to note that no significant difference was observed in the understanding of blood products with regard to the level of education of the respondents (p=0.123, p>0.05), which implies that the basic knowledge about blood products is evenly distributed within the different educational profiles of nurses and technicians. The results of the research indicate the need for additional education, a standardized approach and greater support in healthcare institutions in order to ensure the safety and effectiveness of transfusion therapy. |
