Abstract Porast učestalosti kroničnih nezaraznih bolesti razlog je sve veće zainteresiranosti stručnjaka u promicanju provođenja redovite tjelesne aktivnosti i pravilne prehrane, posebno kod djece i mladih, kako bi se od najranije životne dobi stvorile pozitivne životne navike. Tjelesna aktivnost glavna je karika u očuvanju i poboljšanju zdravlja, unapređenju mentalnih i kognitivnih sposobnosti te u razvijanju pozitivnog sportskog duha. Ljudsko tijelo se treba neprekidno pokretati, radi prevencije i unapređenja zdravlja, od djetinjstva do starosti. Nažalost, u današnje vrijeme vrlo često je smanjena tjelesna aktivnost, a prisutne su loše prehrambene navike. Uz nedovoljnu tjelesnu aktivnost, uzrok velikog broja kroničnih nezaraznih bolesti je nepravilna prehrana čija posljedica može biti šećerna bolest, kardiovaskularne bolesti, osteoporoza, pretilost, kao i maligne bolesti. Pravilno izbalansirana prehrana i odgovarajuća tjelesna aktivnost mogu očuvati i unaprijediti zdravlje.
Cilj ovog istraživanja bio je dokazati kako osobe koje se redovito bave tjelesnom aktivnosti pažljivije odabiru namirnice, odnosno pravilnije se hrane. Istraživanje je uključivalo 100 ispitanika, od toga 60 žena i 40 muškaraca, u dobi od 20 do 35 godina. Dobiveni rezultati pokazuju kako osobe koje su redovito tjelesno aktivne, rjeđe odabiru brzu i kaloričnu hranu te prednost daju pravilnoj i uravnoteženoj prehrani, što posljedično za rezultat ima i normalan indeks tjelesne mase. Kao razlog bavljenja tjelesnom aktivnosti i provođenju pravilne prehrane navodi se prvenstveno očuvanje i unapređenje zdravlja iz čega se može zaključiti da je svijest populacije o važnosti tjelesne aktivnosti i pravilne prehrane, u svrhu očuvanja i unapređenja zdravlja, u porastu.
Abstract (english) The increasement of frequency of chronic non-contagious diseases is the cause of the scientists’ ever increasing interest in promoting of the implementation of regular physical activity and proper nutrition, especially when children and young people are concerned, in order to gain positive life habits from the early stage of life. Physical activity is the main link in preserving and improving of health, in the improving of mental and cognitive capacities and developing of the sport spirit. The human body needs continuous movement because of the health prevention and improvement from childhood to old age. Unfortunately, presently the physical activity is insufficient and eating habits are poor. With insufficient physical activity, the cause of non-contagious chronical diseases is an improper diet which as a consequence can provoke diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, osteoporosis, obesity as well as malignant diseases. Properly balanced nutrition and adequate physical activity can preserve and improve our health.
The scope of this research has been to prove that persons who perform their physical activity regularly are more careful when choosing of the type of food - therefore feed themselves more properly. The research has included 100 respondents, 60 women and 40 men, at the age of 20 to 35 years old. The results obtained show that regularly physically active persons rarely choose fast high calorie food and give advantage to proper and balanced nutrition, which consequently as a result has a normal body mass index. The preservation and improvement of health has been recognised as the main reason for physical activity and properly balanced nutrition. It can therefore be concluded that the awareness of the population about the importance of the physical activity and proper nutrition for preservation and improvement of health has been increasing.
