On čini dvije trećine mišićne mase nadlaktice. Život modernog čovjeka zahtjeva veću aktivnost m. biceps brachii, koji je antagonist m. triceps brachii. Za vrijeme većine svakodnevnih aktivnosti lakat je flektiran i stoga se često događa da je triceps inhibiran. ... More imaju mnoge prednosti. Jednostavne su za upotrebu i lake su za prijenos te omogućuje izvođenje vježbe doslovno bilo gdje. Svrha ovog rada bila je pružiti istraživački dokaz o učinkovitosti elastične trake kod jačanja m. triceps brachii. Za ispitivanje korištene su elastične trake proizvođača Thera-Band® (khaki, zelena i srebrna) U ispitivanju je sudjelovalo 12 studentica koje su nasumično podijeljene u 3 grupe pri čemu je svaka grupa koristila jednu vrstu trake kroz određeno vremensko razdoblje od pet, deset i 15 dana. Snaženje je mjereno primjenom microFET®2 prijenosnog dinamometra. Nakon primijenjenog tretmana u svakoj grupi došlo je do statistički značajnog snaženja m. triceps brachii (22% korištenjem khaki trake, 25% korištenjem zelene trake i 20% korištenjem srebrne trake). Značajnije snaženje kod ispitanica koje su koristile najjaču traku naspram onih koje su koristile slabije trake nije se moglo potvrditi. Isti učinak postignut je korištenjem slabije trake u dužem vremenskom periodu kao i jače trake u kraćem periodu. Rezultati upućuju na to da je upotreba elastične trake svakako korisna i dobrodošla kod jačanja m. triceps brachii, no buduća istraživanja bi trebala uzeti u obzir i faktore koji su individualno specifični (omjer tipa mišićnih vlakana, duljina ekstremiteta i samog mišića te anatomske specifičnosti). Također, zbog specifične građe m. triceps brachii, gdje se svaka fascija može smatrati nezavisnim mišićem, trebalo bi povećati opseg vježbi kako bi se tretman izvršio na svaku glavu m. triceps brachii. Less Abstract (english) M. triceps brachii is extensor muscle of the arm with three heads, the long head, the medial head, and the lateral head. It forms the two third of muscle mass of the arm. In a modern way of life, m. biceps brachii is used more than m. triceps brachii. Most of the everyday activities require bent elbow, which inhibits the triceps. The purpose of this paper was to provide scientific proof about the effectiveness of elastic bands for the strengthening of m. biceps brachii. Elastic bands manufactured byThera-Band® (tan, green, and silver) were used for this research. The tests were conducted on 12 female students randomly divided into three groups where every group used one kind of elastic band through a period of five, ten, or 15 days. Digital handheld dynamometer microFET®2 was used to test the strengthening. Applied treatment showed statistically improved strengthening of m. triceps brachii (22% from using the tan band, 25% from using the green band, and 20% from using the silver band). Significant improvement of strength in the group who used the strongest elastic band compared to the groups who used weaker elastic bands could not be proven. The same effect was achieved by using a weaker elastic band for a long time as by using a stronger elastic band for a short time. Results show that elastic bands are useful for strengthening m. triceps brachii but future researches should also consider other individually specific factors (ratio of muscle fiber types, extremity length and also muscle length and anatomical specificities). Because of the specific anatomy of m. triceps brachii where every head could be considered as an independent muscle, different exercises should be considered to cover all three m. triceps brachii heads.
