Abstract (english) Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic autoimmune disease of the central nervous system which leads to the degradation of the coating that surrounds the nerve fibers, resulting in the inflammatory reaction. It is a disease that attacks the brain and spinal cord. The brain works as a "electric switchboard" of which the body is sending signals that he tell what to do. Due to the demyelinating of the axon, there are a lot of neurological clinical symptoms that reduce the quality of everyday life in people with MS. Along with the primary physical symptoms of the disease, psychic disorders and the impairment of emotional and cognitive functions may also occur. Fatigue and pain are common symptoms that contribute to these disorders.
There is a need to differentiate the fatigue caused by multiple sclerosis from ordinary fatigue, as tiredness in multiple sclerosis has a very adverse impact on daily life activities and disrupts the fulfillment of social and business obligations. In order to fight fatigue, which eventually leads to inactivity, physical activity is required with adequate rest. It has been shown that exercise therapy improves physical function in people with MS. However, there are some questions about optimal exercise therapy. This work aims at using a questionnaire to collect information from patients which exercise program causes the most expressive feeling of muscle fatigue. Exercises with resistance, endurance exercises, exercises of coordination and balance, and combined exercises of endurance and resistance, were compared.
Through the questionnaire which are solved by people with multiple sclerosis, it can be seen that 25 people out of 30 are engaged in physical activity or some kind of training. The reuslts are different depending on the type of exercise and intensity of exercise. Statistics showed that resistance training with moderate intensity doesn`t cause a strong feeling of muscle fatigue, while endurance exercises with low intensity cause a relatively strong sense of muscle fatigue. It also found that exercise of coordination and balance, comparing them with exercises load and endurance, causing the least subjective feeling of muscle fatigue in people with multiple sclerosis.
