Abstract
Rane predstavljaju veliki teret bolesnicima, medicinskom osoblju te cjelokupnom zdravstvenom i ekonomskom sustavu. Usporeni tijek cijeljenja rane najčešće je posljedica kompleksnih lokalnih i sistemskih uzroka. Vodeći uzroci sporog cijeljenja su slabija prokrvljenost tkiva, posljedično tome lokalna hipoksija te kolonizacija patogenih multirezistentnih mikroorganizama. Rane su veliki i učestali klinički problem koji iziskuje produženu hospitalizaciju i visoke troškove liječenja. Hiperbarična oksigenoterapija (HBOT) je terapijski postupak primjene kisika pri tlaku većem od atmosferskog tlaka. Aktiviranjem hipoksijom narušenog procesa biosinteze i regeneracije, omogućava zarastanje rana, (kroz bolju produkciju kolagena koji predstavlja osnovu za brzu regeneraciju rana) i stimulacijom kapilarne proliferacije u kostima koja izaziva osteoklastičnu aktivnost i uklanja nekrotično i infekcijom oštećeno koštano tkivo. Oprema potrebna za terapiju je tlačna komora koja postoji u više izvedbi te se razlikuje u načinu dopreme 100% kisika do korisnika. Hiperbarična oksigenoterapija je dokazano uspješan način liječenja rana. Korisnost hiperbaričnog kisika u liječenju rana danas je jednako neophodna kao i zadovoljavanje osnovnih ljudskih potreba za vodom i hranom.
Abstract (english)
Wounds are a great burden to patients, medical staff and the entire health and economic system. The delayed course of wound healing is most often due to complex local and systemic causes. The leading causes of slow healing are poorer tissue circulation, consequently local hypoxia and colonization of pathogenic multidrug-resistant microorganisms. Wounds are a large and frequent clinical problem that requires prolonged hospitalization and high treatment costs. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) is a therapeutic procedure of applying oxygen at a pressure higher than atmospheric pressure. By activating the process of biosynthesis and regeneration disturbed by hypoxia, it enables wound healing (through better production of collagen which is the basis for fast wound regeneration) and stimulation of capillary proliferation in bones which causes osteoclastic activity and removes necrotic and infected bone tissue. The equipment required for therapy is a pressure chamber that exists in several versions and differs in the way 100% oxygen is delivered to the user. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is a proven successful way to treat wounds. The usefulness of hyperbaric oxygen in wound healing today is as essential as meeting basic human needs for water and food.
