In today’s world there is a large number of people who suffer depression and anxiety disorder but the biggest challenge is to recognize this illnesses as it is often inadequate treatment. People who suffer a form of these disorders often get to be refused and misunderstood by others in their surroundings, especially in Balkan area where depression and anxiety are still taboo topic. Also, another problem is feeling of shame and fear of other people’s opinion if a person goes to a psychiatrist. Refusing and misunderstanding develop even faster progression of illness, which can cause fatal consequences. That is why it is crucial to know the importance of mental health and to be familiar with symptoms of these disorders, so that we could recognize and treat illness on time and in that way prevent chronic type of disease so a person could get the most quality life. In this final work we used reasearches from scientific work and articles with purpouse of showing incidence of postpartal depression, frequency of suicide, frequency of anxiety disorders in general and between children and adolecents, as comparisment of efficiency between pharmacotherapy and psychotherapy.
