Abstract
UVOD: Djeca s cerebralnom paralizom (CP) imaju teškoće s izvođenjem pokreta i kretanja, što ih ograničava u izvođenju funkcionalnih aktivnosti i sudjelovanju. Prema bio-psihosocijalnom modelu djetetu s CP treba pristupiti holistički, odnosno promatrati funkcioniranje svih razvojnih područja te njihovu međusobnu povezanost. Klasifikacijski sustavi grubih motoričkih funkcija (GMFCS) i manualne sposobnosti (MACS) opisuju razinu funkcioniranja djeteta s cerebralnom paralizom u svakodnevnom životu. Cilj istraživanja odnosio se na utvrđivanje povezanosti između grubih motoričkih funkcija (GMFCS) i manualne sposobnosti (MACS) u djece sa spastičnom cerebralnom paralizom. METODE I MATERIJALI: Istraživanje se temelji na retrogradnoj analizi podataka od 2009. do 2016. godine. U istraživanje je uključeno 44 djece (27 dječaka i 17 djevojčica) sa spastičnom cerebralnom paralizom u dobi od 3 do 18 godina, medijan= 9,5 godina). Grube motoričke funkcije procijenjene su primjenom klasifikacijskog sustava grubog motoričkog funkcioniranja (GMFCS), a funkcija gornjih udova primjenom klasifikacijskog sustava manulanih sposobnosti (MACS) . REZULTATI: U uzorku je 93% (n = 41) djece razvilo bilateralni spastični tip cerebralne paralize. Na najnižim razinama grubog motoričkog funkcioniranja klasificirano je 45,5% (n = 20) djece, od kojih je 38,6% (n = 17) klasificirano i na najnižim razinama manualne sposobnosti. Utvrđena je snažna, pozitivna korelacija (rho = 0.85; p < 0.001) između razine grubog motoričkog funkcioniranja i manualne sposobnosti. ZAKLJUČAK: Rezultati istraživanja ukazuju na povezanost grubog motoričkog funkcioniranja i manualne sposobnosti u subpopulaciji djece sa spastičnom cerebralnom paralizom. Međusobna primjena klasifikacijskog sustava grubog motoričkog funkcioniranja i manulanih sposobnosti omogućava sveobuhvatniji opis funkcionalnog profila djeteta s cerebralnom paralizom.
Abstract (english)
INTRODUCTION: Children with Cerebral Palsy (CP) have difficulty with performance of movements and mobility, limiting them to performing functional activities and participation. According to the bio-psychosocial model, the child with CP needs holistic approach, ie observe the functioning of all developmental areas and their interconnectedness. Classification Systems for Gross Motor Functions (GMFCS) and Manual Abilities (MACS) describe the level of functioning of a child with cerebral palsy in everyday life. The aim of the study was to determine the relationship between gross motor functions (GMFCS) and manual abilities (MACS) in children with spastic cerebral palsy. METHODS AND MATERIALS: The research is based on a retrograde data analysis from 2009 to 2016. The study included 44 children (27 boys and 17 girls) with spastic cerebral palsy between the ages of 3 and 18, median = 9.5 years). Gross motor functions are evaluated using the Gross Motor Functions Classification System (GMFCS) and the function of the upper limbs using the MACS Classification System (MACS). RESULTS: In the sample, 93% (n = 41) children developed bilateral spastic-type of cerebral palsy. At the lowest levels of gross motor function, 45,5 % (n = 20) children were classified, of which 38,6 % (n = 17) were classified at the lowest levels of manual abilities. A strong, positive correlation (rho = 0.85; p <0.001) was found between the level of gross motor function and manual abilities. CONCLUSION: The results of the research indicate the correlation between gross motor function and manual abilities in the subpopulation of children with spastic cerebral palsy. Cross-application of the Classification System of Gross Motor Function and Manual Abilities enables a more comprehensive description of the functional profile of the child with cerebral palsy.
