Abstract Uvod: Nogomet je dinamičan i kontaktni sport gdje ozljede nisu nepoznanica.
Abstract (english) Introduction: Football is a dynamic and contact sport where injuries are not unknown. All players on the field are subject to some kind of injury, including goalkeepers. The difference between goalkeeper injuries in other positions on the field is that goalkeepers are more susceptible to upper extremity injuries due to their role on the field, while other players are more susceptible to lower extremity injuries. Aim of the research: The main goal of this research work is to show the most common shoulder injuries in goalkeepers in football using the results obtained from the survey. The specific objectives that will also be investigated are whether to revise shoulder injuries after the first injury and whether prevention exercises affect the reduction of shoulder injuries in goalkeepers. Respondents and methods: 23 male goalkeepers from the Primorsko-goranska county participated in this study. In order to test these hypotheses, an anonymous online survey entitled "Shoulder injuries in goalkeepers in football and their prevention" was used. The survey consisted of 16 closed-ended questions. The questions came with general information about the goalkeepers, the shoulder injuries they had and their prevention. General data were collected on questions about the age of the respondents, gender, height, weight, how long they have been playing football, the average duration of training and the number of training sessions per week. We confirmed the shoulder injuries at the goalkeeper with questions about whether they have ever had a shoulder injury and whether they have had a repeated shoulder injury. To determine which shoulder injury they had, respondents answered questions about whether they had an injury to a muscle, tendon, ligament, joint, or shoulder bone. To confirm the preventive part of shoulder injuries, respondents answered questions about whether they warm up before training and whether they stretch after training. The data were analyzed in Microsoft Excel 2019 and Statistica 14.0.0.15 by TIBCO Software Inc, and were processed statistically and presented in tables and graphs. Results: The results of this study showed that shoulder muscles 71% are most commonly injured, but there is no statistical significance between other types of injuries. Furthermore, the data showed that there is statistical significance of recurrence of shoulder injuries after the first injury. Of the 14 goalkeepers who had a shoulder injury, 50% had a recurrent injury. At the end it was finally proven that there was is statistical difference in the incidence of injuries in goalkeepers performing prevention exercises and those not performing. Uninjured goalkeepers who performed prevention exercises are 47%, while uninjured goalkeepers who do not perform prevention exercises are 1 in 6 goalkeepers. Conclusion: This research has shown important things in the incidence of shoulder injuries and more research is needed to find out a model that will keep goalkeeper injuries to a minimum. FIFA also realized the importance of prevention by publishing its prevention program.
