Bipolar disorder is persistent, compound affective disarrangement based on blend of manic, hypomanic and depressive episodes and is one of main sources of impairment and morbidity on the global level. The knowledge of nurses on bipolar disorder ensures a quality approach to the patient through the health care process, establishment and preservation of a therapeutic relationship, education of the patient and his closest ones, improvement of illness self managment methods, betterment of recognition of stressors, prevention of relapse. The point of the research is to assess the knowledge of nursing students on bipolar disorder. Specific goals are assessing the level of knowledge of full time students in the 1st and in the 3rd year of undergraduate professional study of Nursing on bipolar disorder and assessing the level of knowledge between full time 1st and 3rd year of undergraduate professional study of Nursing in relation to part time 1st and 3rd year of undergraduate professional study of Nursing. A sum of 100 participates engaged. The questionnaire was composed of 3 socio-demographic questions and 12 specified questions about the research topic itself. The outcomes of survey questionnaires were statistically prepared in the Excel program. Full time students reached 69% of correct and 31% of incorrect answers in the field of BD. Part time students achieved 68% of correct and 32% of incorrect answers in the field of BD. Based on the student t-test, it was shown that the difference of arithmetic means is not statistically significant at the significance level of 0.05 (α = 0,05), that is, there is no statistically significant differentiation in comprehension amidst students of full time and part time undergraduate professional study of Nursing.
