Abstract
UVOD: Odbojka se ističe kao dinamičan i energičan sport zbog brzih promjena smjera i ponavljajučih skokova i doskoka, pa je prisutan visoki rizik od ozljede gležnja. Gležanj služi kao vitalna veza između stopala i noge, omogućujući nam hodanje, trčanje i različite sportske aktivnosti. Postoje razni načini prevencije ozljede gležnja, od kojih su vježbe propriocepcije i balansa jedne od najkorištenijih. CILJ ISTRAŽIVANJA: Glavni cilj ovog istraživanja je ispitati učestalost ozljeda gležnja kod muških odbojkaša u 2. Hrvatskoj odbojkaškoj ligi - regija zapad. Uz glavni cilj istraživanja definiran je i jedan specifičan cilj: ispitati Spearmanovu korelaciju između korištenja vježbi propriocepcije i učestalosti ozljeda gležnja. ISPITANICI I METODE: Anketnim upitnikom je ispitano 40 muška odbojkaša iz 2. Hrvatske odbojkaške lige – regija zapad. Upitnik se sastoji od 11 pitanja vezana za prošlu odbojkašku sezonu. Analiza podataka uključuje deskriptivnu statistiku, izračun proporcije i izračun Spearmanova koeficijenta korelacije na razini značajnosti p < 0,05. Za statističku obradu korišteni su programi Statistica 14.0.0.15 (TIBCO Software Inc.) i IBM SPSS Statistics. REZULTATI: Izračun proporcije broja ozljeda gležnja u odnosu na ukupan broj svih ozljeda bio je 43,75%, što potvrđuje prvu hipotezu koja tvrdi da će učestalost ozljeda gležnja biti više od 40%. Naime, druga hipoteza je odbijena jer je rezultatima dokazano da ne postoji statistički značajna negativna korelacija između vježbanja propriocepcije i učestalosti ozljeda gležnja. ZAKLJUČAK: Ozljeda gležnja je najčešća ozljeda odbojkaša, te njena učestalost ukazuje na potrebu za poboljšanje preventivnih mjera. Potrebno je osvjestiti odbojkaše i njihove trenere o pozitivnim učincima vježbanja propriocepcije na stabilnost i sigurnost gležnja kao preventivna mjera.
Abstract (english)
INTRODUCTION: Volleyball stands out as a dynamic and energetic sport due to rapid changes of direction and repetitive jumps and landings, so there is a high risk of ankle injury. The ankle serves as a vital connection between the foot and the leg, enabling us to walk, run and perform various sports activities. There are various ways to prevent ankle injuries, of which proprioception and balance exercises are one of the most used. RESEARCH OBJECTIVE: The main aim of this research is to examine the frequency of ankle injuries among men's volleyball players in the 2nd Croatian Volleyball League - Western region. In addition to the main goal of the research, one specific goal was also defined: to examine the Spearman correlation between the use of proprioception exercises and the frequency of ankle injuries. SUBJECTS AND METHODS: 40 men's volleyball players from the 2nd Croatian Volleyball League - Western Region were surveyed using a questionnaire. The questionnaire consists of 11 questions related to the last volleyball season. Data analysis includes descriptive statistics, calculation of proportion and calculation of Spearman's correlation coefficient at a significance level of p < 0.05. Statistica 14.0.0.15 (TIBCO Software Inc.) and IBM SPSS Statistics 22 programs were used for statistical processing. RESULTS: The calculation of the proportion of the number of ankle injuries in relation to the total number of all injuries was 43,75%, which confirms the first hypothesis which claims that the frequency of ankle injuries will be more than 40%. However, the second hypothesis was rejected because the results proved that there is no statistically significant negative correlation between proprioception training and the frequency of ankle injuries. CONCLUSION: Ankle injury is the most common injury of volleyball players, and its prevalence indicates the need to improve preventive measures. It is necessary to make volleyball players and their coaches aware of the positive effects of proprioception training on the stability and safety of the ankle as a preventive measure.
