Abstract
Svrha prijeoperacijske pripreme je pripremiti bolesnika za operacijski zahvat, odnosno osigurati bolesniku najbolju fizičku i psihološku spremnost za predstojeći operacijski zahvat, a to podrazumijeva zajedničku suradnju svih članova zdravstvenog tima. Preoperativna priprema pacijenta za operacijski zahvat uključuje niz laboratorijskih i dijagnostičkih pretraga, a to uključuje i profilaksu određenim lijekovima i terapijskim postupcima, sve u svrhu što boljeg ishoda operacije i manjeg rizika za nastanak postoperativnih komplikacija. Pacijenti koji prođu temeljitu fizičku i psihološku prijeoperacijsku pripremu bolje podnose operacijski zahvat i naknadne bolove, manje su tjeskobni, oporavljaju se brže, rjeđe imaju komplikacije, a sve to zajedno utječe i na manju potrošnju lijekova te na skraćivanje vremena hospitalizacije.
Abstract (english)
The purpose of preoperative preparation is to prepare the patient for the surgical procedure, and to provide the patient with the best physical and psychological readiness for the upcoming surgical procedure, which implies the collaboration of all members of the health team. Preoperative patient preparation for the operation involves a variety of laboratory and diagnostic examinations, including prophylaxis with certain medicaments and therapeutic procedures, all in order to achieve better outcomes and less risk of postoperative complications for the patient. Patients who undergo a thorough physical and psychological preoperative preparation are better able to undergo surgery and subsequent pain, they are less anxious, recover faster, have fewer complications, all of which affect both lower medicament consumption and shorter hospitalization.
