Proper and balanced diet contributes to the maintenance of physical and mental health, creates resistance to various diseases, and in childhood and adolescence ensures proper growth and development of the organism. The purpose of writing this thesis is to examine the eating habits of preschool children, which is also the main goal of the research, and the specific objectives of the research bring results on the nutritional status of preschool children and show whether there is a difference in food intake and leisure activities. The results showed that most preschool children have good eating habits which results in a normal body weight, but it should certainly be emphasized that the results showed that as many as 7.5% of obese children. What brings devastating results is that a large number of children do not eat fish at all, and worrying results are also regarding the consumption of snacks and sweets. A statistically significant difference between preschool boys and girls was shown in the frequency of consumption of vegetables, fish, snacks and sweets. Educations aimed at children, their parents and educators on proper and balanced nutrition can create an excellent foundation for the adoption of lifelong healthy eating habits, and this should be worked on persistently on a daily basis.
