Low back pain as one of the most common reasons why patients report to the doctors, are absent from work and in chronic form a common cause of disability. A large number of the risk factors that follow modern lifestyle and aging population give back pain more importance due assumptions that prevalence will increase, Due to the large number of systems involved in the treatment of low back pain, it requires a multidisciplinary approach. The aim of this study was to determine patient satisfaction with the classical approach to treatment, to assess how often and for what reasons they decide on an alternative approach. The aim was also to examine the sources of information about methods other than classical and how often health professionals are the source of this information. The information was conducted on 69 subjects whose primary diagnosis for coming to the Department of Rehabilitation and Orthopedic Aids of University Hospital Center Zagreb was low back pain. Subjects were mostly older than sixty years and female and with pain lasting longer than three months. Of all the subjects most are partially satisfied or satisfied with the classical approach. A larger number of patients opted for an alternative approach to treatment due to insufficient results of the classical approach. Information on alternative methods, mostly half of them, was obtained from health professionals while other information was obtained through the media, the Internet and through referrals from other patients. Subjects are generally satisfied with the alternative approach to treatment and believe that the best results are given by a combination of classical and alternative approaches. Of the methods in the alternative approach, most of them opted for massage, which they often combined with other methods of the alternative approach.
