The topic of the final paper is "Attitudes of nursing students about mothers who do not want to breastfeed" where the attitudes and opinions of nursing students about breastfeeding are analyzed. Nursing students learn and listen a lot about breastfeeding, especially in maternal and child health care course and child health care course. The first part of the final paper discusses about breastfeeding, the composition of breast milk, breastfeeding positions and the composition of artificial feeding. The second part of the final paper deals with the analysis of the questionnaire answers of full-time nursing students at the Faculty of Health Studies in Rijeka. The aim of the research was to examine the attitudes of students towards mothers who do not want to breastfeed. The students were also examined about attitudes towards breastfeeding in general. The study involved 25 first-year students, 27 second-year students and 27 third-year students. The research showed that opinions are very similar, except in a few questions where opinions are completely different depending on the year of study The main statement of the research is "I think it is all right if a mother does not want to breastfeed her child" to which 51.9 % of students provided positive answer. One can therefore conclude that more than a half of them have positive attitudes about mothers who do not want to breastfeed. The other 32.2 % do not think that it is all right if the mother does not want to breastfeed her child and 29.1 % neither agree or disagree with the statement. To conclude, there is a difference in students' opinion and attitudes and first-year students have the most negative attitudes towards mothers who do not want to breastfeed.
