Stroke has been declared a threatening epidemic of the 21st century, considering that it is the second cause of death and the first cause of disability in the world, stroke therefore represents one of the biggest public health problems. 85% of strokes could have been prevented if they had been prevented in time by changes in lifestyle and by changing unhealthy habits. Estimates of studies conducted before the pandemic predicted an increase in stroke cases in the next 30 years in most countries, therefore it is important to define the knowledge of future medical professionals in order to lead, and ultimately live, a healthy lifestyle. The subjects of this research are first and third year students of regular and part-time Nursing studies at the Faculty of Health Studies in Rijeka. 102 students were surveyed online using an anonymous survey. Based on the obtained results, a total of 17.6% students have bad knowledge, 60.8% of students have good knowledge, and 21.6% of students have excellent knowledge. After comparing the knowledge of part-time and regular students, it turned out that the difference is statistically insignificant, but still existing. Comparing all first-year and third-year students, it was shown that the difference is statistically significant, and that third-year students have a higher level of knowledge about stroke than first-year students.
