The development of motor skills takes place according to the law of nature and is one of the basic processes and functions of human life. It is closely related to cognitive and emotional development. Knowledge of the correct sequence of motor development and developmental stages in a child and the performance of correct forms of movement up to the age of six significantly reduces the risk of deformity of the locomotor system. Motor skills, from a kinesiological point of view, is a term that primarily refers to the ability of a child to purposefully use his own body to move and handle objects. The first indicator by which we can monitor a child's development of proper motor skills are primitive or innate reflexes. The aim of this final research paper is to determine the level of acquired knowledge of students about motor development of children up to six years of age and to compare the knowledge of the first, second and third year of undergraduate full-time nursing at the Faculty of Health Studies, University of Rijeka. The method of data collection for this research was an online anonymous survey questionnaire called “Survey on knowledge of neuromotor development of a child up to 6 years of age”. Students of the first year, second year and third year of full-time undergraduate study of nursing, Faculty of Health Studies, University of Rijeka participated. The obtained and processed results showed that the respondents have adequate knowledge about the motor development of a child up to the age of six.
