The aim of this experimental final work is to get acquainted with imaging methods that play a major role in the detection and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias. The paper briefly describes the anatomy of the heart and the mechanism of the electrical conduction system of the heart in order to better understand heart rhythm disorders. The paper deals with electrocardiographic imaging as an initial step in the detection of cardiac arrhythmias. Furthermore, ultrasound diagnostics of the heart (transthoracic, transesophageal and intracardiac ultrasound), coronary angiography, MSCT coronary angiography, magnetic resonance imaging of the heart, X-ray of the heart and lungs, electrophysiological examination and treatment with radiofrequency ablation are described. The role of the nurse or technician in performing each of these procedures is described in detail. Some arrhythmias can be symptomatic and thus affect the quality of life of patients, while others, if left untreated, can be fatal. Advances in technology and medicine, as well as constant education of staff, are continuously improving the care of patients with heart rhythm disorders. With the help of these radiological techniques and other imaging methods, the exact place and cause and the mechanism of arrhythmia can be precisely discovered, which is important when choosing the type of treatment for a particular arrhythmia and the success of resolving the arrhythmia. Electrophysiological examination as one of the most modern imaging methods used in the diagnosis of cardiac arrhythmias provides the most comprehensive and detailed description of the electrical conduction system of the heart. By radiofrequency (RF) ablation, the percentage of success in "solving" the arrhythmia reaches over 95%. For this reason, electrophysiological testing and RF ablation will be described extensively in the paper.
