Background: Breastfeeding is the most natural way to feed a newborn baby, that is, to feed the baby with breast milk at the mother's breast. With its composition, breast milk is a perfect combination of nature, which absolutely fulfills all psycho-physical needs of the child, necessary for proper growth and development. The main focus in this segment is on the scientifically proven fact that it promotes and strengthens the immune system and prevents the development of some diseases, especially infections, inflammations, allergic conditions, chronic diseases and autoimmune diseases. In addition, breastfeeding has a strong impact on breastfeeding status in almost all segments. In addition to the significant impact on maternal and child health, it is important to mention the convenience of breastfeeding as a feeding method, but also a significant economic benefit. A growing number of experts are focused on researching and communicating the latest findings on the importance of breastfeeding for both mother and child. Aim: To investigate and compare the opinions of Zadar County residents about breastfeeding in public. Methods: The one-month study included 268 respondents in Zadar County over the age of 18. The survey consisted of 13 questions, on the basis of which the answers were analyzed by gender and age.
