OBJECTIVE: The aim of the research is to test out basic level of knowledge and difference betwen levels of knowledge and skill sets betwen full-time and part-time students that attend undergraduate nursing studies on tracheotomy. RESPONDENTS (MATERIALS) AND METHODS: The research was conducted at the Faculty of Health Studies in Rijeka. It was conducted on students of first, second and third year of full-time and part-time undergraduate nursing studies. PROCEDURE AND INSTRUMENTARY: In the research, a questionnaire was used, which was created by the author. The questionnaire was created on the Google forms platform. It consists out of 20 questions. The questions are focused on testing skills and knowledge of the respondents. The introductory part of the questionnare refers on the personal data of the respondents, that is gender, student status, what year of study are they and work. Rest of the questioanre refers to the respondents familiarity with tracheotomy, the frequency of contact with people who have done the procedure of tracheostomy, and knowledge about the types of tracheotomy, tracheal cannula, indications, contradictions and complications from tracheotomy. RESULTS: are shown in the graphs, and they confirm that the goals have been appropriately set and show that part-time students have a better range of knowlede and skills compared to full-time students.
