INTRODUCTION: Human communication is based on voice quality. Disorder and damage of the voice can affect the self-confidence, psychological health and life quality. The main goal of the research is to prove the efficiency of voice rehabilitation as a therapy method in presence of hoarseness to improve life quality. METHODS AND RESPONDENTS: 36 respondents took part in the research. All respondents were submitted to otorhinolaryngological examination, and the phonology specialist graded objective condition of the vocal cords and the voice using GRBAS scale.The respondents filled the questionnaire to collect information on how the hoarseness affects the life quality: VHI, GHSI I V-RQOL. After the questionnaire, the respondents were examined by speech therapist(Spectral acoustic voice analyses), and voice rehabilitation took place 2-3 weeks. The ORL examination, vocal cords examination by HRES endo camera, vocal cords and voice analysesby GRBAS scaleand the completion of the questionnaire followed. RESULTS: Research has found that more women have voice problems (63.9%) and that the largest number of respondents (41.7%) are between the ages of 60-79. The impact of hoarseness on life quality is similar by gender and age before and after voice rehabilitation. The total sum of points after voice rehabilitation is significantly lower than the sum of points before voice rehabilitation through all questionnaires and GRBAS scale. CONCLUSION: Voice rehabilitation is a successful method of prosthetic therapy, and it also affects the quality of life.
