Osteoporosis is a systemic, metabolic progressive, bone disease, characterized by reduced bone density and damage of bone microarchitecture, resulting in an increased risk of bone fractures. Depending on the type of osteoporosis, the disease may be caused by a deficiency of estrogen hormone that is important in regulating calcium insertion into bone or may occur with the aging process as a consequence of reduced activity and number of osteoblasts. Causes of osteoporosis may also be some other chronic illness or drug use that accelerates the bone breakdown process. The emphasis in treating women with osteoporosis is on kinesitherapy or physical exercise, which increases bone density and reduces the possibility of falls and osteoporotic fractures. The aim of this study was to determine the quality of life in women with osteoporosis who exercise in relation to those with the same diagnosis who do not exercise. The results showed that there were no statistically significant differences in the quality of life of women with osteoporosis related to physical functioning, but there is a statistically significant difference in the quality of life associated with physical restraint in favor of those who do not exercise. There are no statistically significant differences in the quality of life associated with fatigue, social functioning, and the quality of life associated with pain. However, in the quality of life of a woman related to emotional health, a statistically significant difference was established, ie women who exercise have better quality of life related to emotional health. It can be concluded that the research has established a better quality of life associated with emotional health at women who exercise. It is also established a slightly better quality of life associated with physical and social functioning and less fatigue and pain in a women who exercise, but without statistical significance.
