Introduction: Measuring range of motion is almost always used during the rehabilitation process and is most often carried out before, during and after rehabilitation. These measurements give the physiotherapists insight into the course and success of the therapy. To carry out the measurements, knowledge of anatomy and mechanics is required, as well as skill in handling goniometers. Goniometers are devices with which we measure the range of motion, and accurate results require the most precise goniometers. Objectives: The main goal of this research was to determine whether there is a difference in the accuracy of measuring range of motion when using a classic two-arm goniometer and a digital goniometer (Easy Angle, Meloq, Sweeden). The second goal of the research was to determine which instrument will be used to perform the measurement faster. Subjects and methods: A total of 30 students between ages of 19 and 23 paricipated in the research, all of them are students of the Faculty of Health Studies in Rijeka, majoring in physiotherapy. Out of the total number of respondents, 10 men and 20 women attended. The research was conducted during June and July 2024 in the Physiotherapy Skills cabinet of the Faculty of Health Studies in Rijeka. The instruments used were a classic two-armed goniometer, a digital Easy Angle goniometer and a stopwatch. The trial lasted five days; six subjects per day and 15 minutes were spent on each subject. The extent of all movements in the elbow was measured, in both elbow joints for all participants twice, and in addition, the time required for the measurement was also measured. The t-test for large dependent samples was used to compare all results with a statistical significance level of P<0.05. The results were processed in the program Statistica 14.1.0 (TIBCO Software Inc.). Results: The research did not reach concrete results and neither hypothesis was fully confirmed, both hypotheses were accepted in half of the cases, and in the other half they were not accepted. Conclusion: The digital Easy Angle goniometer is easier to use than classic two-armed goniometer, its biggest drawback is its price. Considering that the digital Easy Angle goniometer is new tool on the market, additional time is needed to conduct similar research that may give more concrete results.
